The secondment of the UWC team leader, Dr. Mykhaylo Lototskyy, to IFE was related to WP2 “Development of cost efficient MH containers with a focus on their mass production” and WP1 “Development and characterisation of advanced MH materials for hydrogen storage and compression”. It included two visits.
The first visit (22 February – 3 March 2018; 10 days) was related coordination of detailed scope of activities of South African partners within the project (including the participation in the project kick-off meeting).
During the second visit held from 03 to 22 September (20 days), Dr. Lototskyy was involved in research activities (analysis of literature data and experimental studies) towards finding the ways for optimisation of both material and engineering solutions in making metal hydride containers with improved performance and their integration in advanced hydrogen storage and compression systems. Part of the results were reported at the Third International Symposium on Materials for Energy Storage and Conversion (mESC-IS 2018) held in Belgrade, Serbia, from 10 to 12 September 2018. In addition, two manuscripts of review articles dealing with the related material and engineering problems have been prepared for the submission by Dr. Lototskyy and the project coordinator, Prof. Yartys.
